Hime Gyaru vs. Ulzzang
Konichiwa gyaru tans! So we all know what hime gyaru is! (and if you don't you can go to the how to be hime gyaru tab, and then you should have a pretty good idea ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆) But, does annyone know what ulzzang is? Well...here are some pictures to get you started off with an idea of what ulzzang looks like~! :)
So here is Ulzzang(Korean)....
Here is hime gyaru(Japanese).... (the better one)

I personally like both ulzzang and hime-gyaru! (I just like hime-gyaru more). Remember that not all hime gyaru is as extreme as the picture above, and it can be more casual :) As a gyaru I have those days where I don't feel like primping my hair, doing lots of make-up, etc. So I may do more of an Ulzzang look on days like that. So yes I do really like the style ulzzang, and may go for more of that type of look on lazy days, but overall I am a gyaru-tan and will remain a hime gyaru loving gal till the end~!<3

I can't choose!!! Haha. But I do feel some ulzzangs have a very elegant and beautiful look which I love. (^_−)−☆ love the pretty bright colours in hime gyaru too!

DeleteYea, I would consider being ulzzang, but since the style requires pale skin, I can't do it. But I really love hime gyaru :)
DeleteTo be honest I don't think you need pale skin to be ulzzang. Ulzzang means best face not pale skin. All you need is the features, you should try it out you never know until you try. :)

DeleteI like them both XD but I personally like ulzzang better.. I don't know why though but to me it looks a bit more natural and less done up.

Sorry but I think gyaru wear A LOT of makeup and that's ugly. Ulzzang are natural so they are better.
ReplyDeleteIts ironic how you're calling Ulzzang natural and saying Gyaru is ugly only because of the make up since the majority of all famous ulzzangs in Korea achieve the ulzzang look through plastic surgery ~ooooh so natural~ SYKE LOL whereas Gyaru achieve this look through only make up skill. I prefer gyaru since they stand out more and have awesome make up skills :-)

ReplyDeleteLol. Ulzzang means 'best face' in Korean. So how can you 'dress up' as an ulzzang. Everyone has their own style. I'm more of a tomboy-ish girl compared to others. Mix and match and create your own style ~(^.^)~

They're both are a little bit strange because they're too similar to how a child dresses and looks, and that brings up some weird stuff when you talk about connecting sexuality and sexiness to children. Women that dress and make themselves up in this way are basically showing grown men that they are willing to dress like a child to appeal to them, like with the school girl plaid skirt and pig tails Britney Spears wore in her Slave video. It is not ok for a woman to have to make herself like a child to appeal to a man, normal men shouldn't like that.

I think the idea hear is to be cute not sexy lol The far east is very different to the West in young culture, where as the western ideal of attraction is cool or sexy, Far East is more of cute and innocent. Neither is better than the other but both should be understood properly because if you don't you could offend someone lol But obviously who would know all that from the top of their head. Personally I like Hime Gyaru because a lot have awesome Geisha inhereted skills with makeup and it's amazing to see~~

ReplyDeleteGyaru is too unnatural- it somehow hides ones true facial features which are (unique and one of kind) due to its heavy make up.
ReplyDeleteYoung girls should most preferably wear something light like Ulzzang for middle school, high school and etc.
P.S. your imperfections makes you perfect. U may enhance your beauty, but don't hide it. ;* <3~
The Picture that lists the differences is very wrong in a lot of ways because both contain the use of heavy eyeliner, and both take advantage of contouring. gyarus use false eyelashes WAY more then ullzangs...And keeping true to korean fashion ullzangs brows are never arched as opposed to what is says in the picture... they are where as gyarus are more likely to be seen with thinner arched eyebrows.
